Ingredients
  • 4 cups all purpose flour (divide into two parts (3 1/2 and 1/2))
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (Fresh or packed)
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons fancy mollasses
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond essence
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vanilla
  • melted butter to brush on after baking (optional)
  • 1/2 cup water if necessary for dissolving sugar
Instructions
    Preheat the oven
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Prepare your Bundt pan or cake pan of choice by lining it with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the dough
  3. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir it well.

  4. Melt brown sugar with water in a separate bowl. Add molasses and stir well.

  5. Now add fresh ginger and melted butter and stir well.

    Add milk and vanilla to enhance the flavor. Stir well until all ingredients are combined.

  6. Add the liquid mixture to the flour and knead. Keep in mind that the dough should be soft.

  7. Make the dough into a ball, cover it with plastic wrap, and set aside for about 30-35 minutes.

  8. Roll out the dough and bake
  9. Take out the dough from the bowl, make a ball and roll it out. Roll it out a little thick so that it becomes easier to bake.
